    Different Types of sentences based on purpose with example: When you make any statement then surely you are expressing your feelings. Just like this, you make exclamations, ask any question, and give any information with the help of your sentence. With this we have categorized sentences in four sections. So based on the purpose and form of the sentences, we have four types of sentences. Here Different Types of sentences based on purpose with example are explained.

    As we have told you that there are four types of sentences which are given as following.

    Declarative Sentences

    Imperative Sentences

    Exclamatory Sentences

    Interrogative Sentences

    So it is fine that we know all of them now. But what they all mean. Let’s check it out.

    Declarative Sentences

     Declarative Sentences are the simplest form of sentences because when you declare any statement or convey information or ideas then you are making declarative sentences. These sentences can be simple or complex on the basis of their structures. Formal letters or essays are always written in the declarative Sentences. Lets us cleat this with few examples.

    You are an awesome person, John.

    Red is my favorite color.

    I just got over you.

    She is not that bad girl.

    I appreciate all the entrepreneurs.

    We will have fun with them.

    These are all the examples of declarative sentences.

    Imperative sentences

     In spoken English, you always face many other situations also like you are giving order, command or requesting anyone to do something. For sure, these kinds of sentences come into the categories of Imperative sentences. These sentences end up with the exclamation mark and it all depends upon the strength of your emotion. They can consist of only one verb or can be more complex. Let’s take a look on the following examples.

    Halt!

    Respond immediately.

    Please end this discussion.

    Go out from here.

    Meet me at down-town.

    Don’t touch me.

    Leave that and come with me.

    These are all the examples of imperative sentences.

    Exclamatory Sentences

    When you express your strong feelings then you are surely making exclamatory sentences. Exclamatory Sentences always end up with the exclamation sign.  Exclamation sentences are used to express emotions but one must take care of them because it may lead you to poor writing skills. Let’s take a look on the following examples.

    We can’t wait for the holidays!

    Oh my God, I lost!

    Please come!

    This was the best year of my life!

    Hurrah! We have won the match.

    These are all the examples of exclamatory sentences.

    Interrogative sentences

    Interrogative sentences are easy to find. Reason being for this is that whenever you making any question then you are making interrogative sentence. Interrogative sentences always end up with the question mark. Let’s take a look on the following examples.

    Is this raining outside?

    Have you had Dinner?

    Do you know who this is?

    Were you riding my bike?

    Was this a fake profile?

    Are you mad?

    These are all the examples of interrogative sentences.
