Dealing with workers has become vastly more complex since the pandemic. In pre-pandemic years, employers faced the usual challenges with employees, but most spanned a known universe of issues that could be addressed. Life isn’t always perfect, and people often face daunting challenges in their lives. An employee might be caring for a sick relative, be experiencing mental health issues or facing challenges due to a disability. In any of these cases, both the worker and the company must be aware of what is going on and respond with care and true consideration.

Both of these issues can harm overall company performance, and result in elevated rates or absenteeism and employee turnover.
